The destruction of hedgerows, the excessive use of pesticides, soil degradation, and monocultures are all endangering biodiversity and pollinators. Without bees, many agricultural crops would disappear. Bees are also victims of attacks by harmful species invading our land: varroa mites and Asian hornets.

Until recent years, beekeeping was in decline, particularly in France and Normandy.

Following this grim observation, associations (CIVAM beekeeping, Bee Health Defense Group, Association for the Development of Beekeeping) and institutional authorities (European, State, Regional, Departmental, and Municipal) are making the protection of bees a priority by supporting beekeeping.

The European Commission's March 2023 report, From the Hives, concluded that there was massive fraud, at 50%, in imported honey (mixed with rice, wheat, and beet sugar syrup).

In France, we only produce a third to a half of our honey consumption.

In a protected environment, it seemed essential to us to produce 100% natural Norman honey!

💡 Did you know?

  • A bee produces about 1/12th of a teaspoon of honey in its entire lifetime.

  • It takes more than 500 bees to fill a 500g jar!
